Ժողովրդական էպոս · Միջնադար · Էպոս
Four generations of heroes defend the mountain stronghold of Sasun against the armies of Baghdad and Egypt. Sanasar and Baghdasar, Great Mher, and the youngest and most beloved, David of Sasun, armed with his lightning sword and his magic horse Jalali, fight for freedom and justice.
The Armenian national epic was passed orally from storyteller to storyteller for centuries before it was written down in the 1870s. Funny, heroic, and full of wisdom, "Daredevils of Sassoun" is the soul of Armenian folklore.
