شاهنامه
Over thirty years, the poet Ferdowsi wrote an epic of some 50,000 couplets telling the history of Persia from the creation of the world to the Arab conquest: kings, heroes, dragons, and the great warrior Rostam.
The Book of Kings is the national epic of Iran and a cornerstone of Persian language and culture.
