At a lakeside country estate, a young man named Konstantin stages his experimental play, starring Nina, a young woman who dreams of becoming an actress. His mother, a famous actress, mocks the play, and her lover, a successful writer, seduces Nina.
Chekhov's play about art, love, and unfulfilled dreams changed modern theater.
