Մենք ենք, մեր սարերը
Հրանտ Մաթևոսյան · 1962 · Ռեալիզմ
Shepherds in the Armenian mountains get into trouble when, following an old custom, they keep a few stray sheep that wandered into their flock — and the incident turns into a long fight with the authorities and the police.
Matevosyan's novella is funny, warm, and wise, a story about the clash between the old mountain code of honor and the new bureaucratic world. It became the basis of a beloved Armenian film.
